Zoe Grinfeld puts the fun in fashion. Her company stands for everything I believe in, embracing pops of color and destigmatizing youthful looks worn by adults. One is never too old for a twister-themed dress or a doll-head necklace. Zoe’s designs speak to my column’s mission; fashion is a series of projects, goals, and life experiences, not just a collection of garments. Fashion is girlhood, sexuality, friendship, identity. Fashion is sculpture, photography. Zoe inspires me to make ginormous skirts, family portraits, and maximalist earring sets.
